Updated Shipping Options for US-Based Customers

Dear CableMod Customer,

 

We want to inform you of recent changes to U.S. import regulations that may affect the pricing and delivery of CableMod products shipped to customers in the United States.

 

Termination of De Minimis Exemption for Chinese Imports

 

On April 2, 2025, the U.S. government announced the elimination of the de minimis exemption for goods imported from China and Hong Kong. Previously, this exemption allowed packages valued at or under $800 to enter the U.S. duty-free. Effective May 2, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. EDT, all such shipments will now be subject to applicable duties and taxes. ​

 

Key Details:

 

For Non-Postal Shipments: Goods sent through channels other than the international postal network will incur standard duties as per U.S. tariff schedules.​

 

For Postal Shipments: Items sent via the international postal network will be subject to a duty rate of either:​

 

  • 120% of the item’s value, or​
  • A flat fee of $100 per item (increasing to $200 per item after June 1, 2025).​

 

Please note that these duties are collected by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) upon entry into the United States and are not charges imposed by CableMod. ​

 

What This Means for You

 

Over the past few months, we have been working to expand our production base outside of China. After working closely with our logistics partners, we will now be offering the following shipping method for US customers:

 

Standard DDP (12-21 days): With this shipping method, CableMod will handle all applicable import duties and taxes for the customer. You will not receive any additional charges.

 

CableMod Express, a rush service that moves your order to the front of the production line, will continue be available for purchase.
